BDA successfully completes first self-certification project. October 28th, 2008
Bright Design Associates has successfully submitted two projects to Pima County Development Services Building Safety and Sustainability Department for self certification of commercial tenant improvement projects. Life Skills Development and Direnfeld Physical Therapy, both in Desert Life Medical Offices at 2001 E Orange Grove, were permitted under this new program. Because Bright Design Associates could self certify these projects, 2 to 3 weeks were eliminated from the permitting process allowing construction to begin and the tenant to move in almost a full month earlier.
Bright Design Associates is the only architectural firm to date that can self certifiy plans in Pima County. In a pilot program initiated by Pima County last year, architects who complete qualification requirements can self certify projects in Pima County without review of plans by County Building Staff, The construction inspections are still preformed by Pima County Inspectors.

Principal of BDA is First eligible for Building Review Self-Certification. June 24th, 2008
Rick Bright firm principal of Bright Design Associates has successfully completed the requirements for the Pima County Building Review Self Certification Program. This Pilot program created by Pima County Development Services Building Safety and Sustainability Department allows architect to self certify the building review for single family and certain commercial tenant improvement projects. The hope is that this will reduce the time required to obtain a building permit and allow construction to begin sooner. Visit the list of approved registrants Here. 3800 & 3810 S. Evans Blvd Febuary 10th, 2008
Two Evans South industrial buildings have broken ground. Both buildings will be constructed utilizing concrete tilt-up construction with metal truss and panelized roofing systems. Both buildings were designed featuring a sweeping segmented facade which sweeps along the Evans Blvd curve. Steel canopies accent and shade the glass storefront and will add a splash of color to the concrete monoliths. VCI development will utilize 5700 S.F. of the total 11375 S.F. available for lease.
